Red, White, & Blues on Tin Can Tuesday!

Writer's picture: Timothy W. WebbTimothy W. Webb

As American as apple pie, Blues Music has been admired around the world by fans and musicians alike. Elvis, Chuck Berry, the Beatles and Stones (to name a few) were all influenced by the likes of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Howlin’ Wolf and Elmore James.

Growing up and going to college in the Midwest, trips to Chicago Blues clubs were the best up-close musical schooling one could get! The most enduring Blues boot camp came when I had the opportunity to tour and record with longtime Muddy Waters sideman Luther ‘Guitar Jr’ Johnson.

The double shuffle is my forte drum beat, and I’ve always loved the sound of the Hammond B3 organ swirling out of a Leslie speaker. “City Shuffle” reflects both of these, in sync with Chicago Blues core samplings of soulful sax and fat-toned guitar. It also takes you up to the south shoreline and back with occasional splashes of Reggae. This 2020 TinCanMusic composition would be the perfect song to license for your next attention-grabbing, feel-good marketing project. Enjoy!
